For the Safety of the Children...

This is the sign in the bathroom that we share with another family. Skylar has learned so much in first grade, that she was able to read the sign to me the other night. After finishing the last sentence, she looked up at me with a straight face and asked me "Why would they?" HUH? "Why would they leave their children under the sink. It would not be safe." Then I read the sign again. She's right! It would not be safe to leave your children under the sink!
Update on Kyara: She is doing great! She has not had a fever in a couple of days now. They are continuing to back the drain tube out of her mediastinum. Once it is out, they can take out her breathing tube. The doctors are still planning on this happening around Sunday. Kyara is getting some personality and strength back. She is certainly letting the nurses know when she is not happy. Her feet are telling all kinds of stuff! She kicks and points with her toes. We are very excited to see her care about what is happening around her and TO her!

Good, everything is coming under control, this is good news, Kyara is doing a lot of things with her feet, one of these days she will show me how to do it.
Skylar is a big sister and she understands a lot of things, and every day she will learn more, smart girl.! Big kisses to all of you

Way to go Skylar! That is one to remember. Glad to hear that Kyara is getting her spunkiness back and that she has not had fevers! Have another snowball fight - if you have any snow.

So happy to hear the continued GREAT news on kyara. Tell her to keep up the good work. When she gets back to class she will have to demonstrate how to use your feet for communication. ha, ha. It is really good to hear that she is getting back to her old self, slowly but getting there. I will be looking forward to hearing more good news soon.

Skylar that was really funny about the sign. Yes, I read it the same way. Someone needs to read/edit before printing a sign like that. Have you ever heard of the Bill Engvall "Here's Your Sign."

Tell Kyara I am proud of her progress and being able to tell the nurses what she needs or feels.

Love to all,
Mrs. Laurie
