Going Outside

It is 50 degrees here and sunny... a heat wave! So my dad and I decided to take Kyara outside for some fresh air and sun. It was good just to get out. I spent time this afternoon stretching her and talking to her. Some exercise is good for the soul!

It has been really nice having my dad here this weekend. I am completely pooped and I know it has been affecting my attitude, so it is nice to have a break. I slept in the morning at the RMH and it was nice. My dad spent the night with Kyara last night and will again tonight, so I am planning on sleeping in some again tomorrow. Tonight we had a girls' night out. Kassey, my mom, and I went out and blew off a little steam. It was a very nice, relaxing evening. Good food, a little drink, and wonderful company can help a person's attitude!

Golly, Genie...your posts give me goosebumps! I loved the story of the fern and the bamboo and I know Kyara, you, and your entire family are growing STRONG roots! You are right...God never gives us anything we cannot handle...we only need to ask for His grace. I remember feeling so overwhelmed when we were up there and Esperanza, who, God bless her heart is dealing with a lot herself, reminded me: "We are never given more than we can handle." How true! What we do in response to the trials we endure will either lift us up or drive us deeper down. I know you are having very tough times, but your faith and perseverance shine through! You are so strong and you and your family are touching so many lives in sharing your story with us!

I am so thankful that you have your family there to support you, to let you sleep in occasionally, and to accompany you for a girls' night out! Don't ever deny yourself those golden moments to get away for a little bit and refresh. When you take care of yourself, you take care of Kyara.

The pictures you posted of today put a smile on my face :) Kyara is so beautiful and looked so happy! Enjoy the nicer weather and breathe some fresh air whenever you get the chance!

Love,

Michelle

Thank you for posting the beautiful photo of Kyara. An outing may be just what she needed today. It was also good to see Mike, I know it is nice to have him there to help and give you an opportunity to catch up on some much needed rest. I am so glad you had a nice evening with Peggy and Kassey. Sending love and prayers to all of you,
Liz Grove

I can only say that your family is such an inspiration, not only to me but to may families that I know who are in prayer for you! I agree that your family is growing strong roots, but I tend to think of an oak tree. It takes a long time for them to grow, but look at how many lives they touch. Know that you ALL are loved and being prayed for. Lana, Russell, Caitlin, Savannah and Alexander

It is so good to see the pics and I'm glad it was warm enough for you to take Kyara out today...the sunshine has to be good for her. I'm also glad that you are taking time for yourself a little to sleep in and for a girls night out. We'll keep praying for those pathways and you keep doing what you are doing!

Dear Dzenis family ... when recently at a trade show in Louisville as an exhibitor, we met Mike Leonard, Kyara's Grandfather, who was manning the booth next to us. In the course of the 3 day show, we talked to Mike and learned about Kyara. I have been following with interest your story and am truly inspired and amazed by your strength and determination. Your wee girl has strong parents and God will help you come through this. Just wanted to let you know that we had met Kyara's grandad who is a lovely person and obviously very concerned as you are about your little one. Just wanted to let you know we are thinking about you.
