Hospice Atlanta

This is a hard post to write...

Over the past month Kyara has been struggling more and more. She had the upper respiratory infection and since that time, other body systems have been shutting down. Her poor body has been through the wringer. She has been the strongest, most awe-inspiring person I have ever seen. It is amazing how much she (God working through her) has changed me in the past year and a half. After talking with numerous doctors, we knew we had limited time left together. After a lot of talking, praying, crying, and more praying, we decided to use Hospice Atlanta to help us give Kyara the gift of peace, comfort, and the ultimate healing. We kept Kyara at home for as long as we could, and decided to bring her to the Hospice Atlanta Center on Tuesday. I am staying up here with her and Gunars is coming and going while staying with Skylar and Kassey at home.

Prayers for Kyara's comfort are welcome and appreciated.

You talk about Kyara's strength, but you are the strongest individual I know. You have never left her side and fought for what you believed is best for your family. I am so proud to see your faith grow in Christ through it all. He will be your rock as you stand as everyone else's! Please know the Sisk family is praying for all of you and we have asked Missy to keep us posted. Many prayers!

I have come to Kyara's page on and off in the last year - it was brought to my attention by one of your family members. Who I am is not important but what your daughter has done for me is very important. She has taught me to hold my own children closer, to sit back and enjoy each moment with them and to live each moment as if it were our last.
May your sweet girl find a place with God and may you find peace with that knowledge.

I can not even begin to imagine what you, and your entire family is going through. I have been reading your blog posts for many months. My heart breaks for each of you. We will continue to pray for you and for Kyara to have peace. My family will continue to send many prayers for each member of your family. We hope and pray that sweet Kyara will find peace.

Genie,
You and your family are so amazing and so strong, although I'm sure you don't feel it right now. But God has shown His power through you in amazing ways. I am praying for you, Gunars, and the girls. May God's hand be all over you all and especially Kyara during this time.

Genie,
I just wanted to let you know that we are praying for all of you during this hard time. You and your family are amazing. The love and the strength. As I write this there is a verse that is speaking to me so loud and I have to share it with you. It's Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight." I can't get over your faith and your strength. We will continue to pray for your precious angel. God bless you all and may He shower you and your family with peace and comfort.

Love,
Leonie

If you believe we all have a purpose, you are the strongest most wonderful parents and your love is so strong Kyara was meant to be with you so that you could tell her story. I spent hours reading through every entry – laughing, crying and I want you to know her courage and your love is an inspiration and touched my heart… helping me to have strength to face the difficult things life has thrown my way that maybe have me down. I want to thank you for letting friends and strangers share in your life and be inspired by Kyara. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this most difficult time. Have faith that your little angel will now smile with love every day and watch over everyone whose lives she’s touched.

I would love to know how God uses all of this in Skylar's life. I will pray that Christ will use her in an awesome way for all that she has witnessed and been through. Genie.. hard to find the right words to say at a time like this.. You are such an unbelievable mother. You have never wavered in your strength and trust in His plan. I admire you more than you know, and pray that your sweet girl finds the comfort only He can provide. I also pray that with her comfort comes yours. We are here if your family needs anything at all, and will continue to keep you in our prayers.

Genie, Gunars, and girls,

Our prayers have always been and will continue to be with you as your journey down this path together. We don't understand God's plan, but we know that He chooses only the strongest to pick up and carry His cross. Kyara and your family have touched many hearts and continue to teach us about the most important things in life.

Much love,

Michelle, Steve, and the Hagerott boys

You are a precious family.
I wish we knew why you all had to go through this... but we don't. But I do know God has the most amazing plans for all of you though it is tough to see right now. You bring me strength and inspire me. What an example of Christ's love you all are to Kyara and to so many others. All of you are in our prayers for strength, for peace, for comfort, for rest, and even for joy. Please let us know if we can do anything for you at all.
Love, The Dettmering Family
