I spent the night with Kyara last night, and it was rough. She is storming pretty continiously and stormed most of the day today. Her belly is quite distended still and her white blood count is up again. Maybe she is getting another infection??
I met with the Rehab doctor for Scottish Rite today, and he made me feel...good. I hope this will correlate to making Kyara feel good and start recovering better! She is still in the ICU at Scottish Rite, but will be changing to the rehab floor sometime soon. I will post a room when we are settled.
I have had an emotional homecoming. Walking in the door was surreal. I looked around, and its my house, but different. Kyara's picture is everywhere, things that remind me of her underfoot, in closets, in the girls' room, just everywhere. I don't know how Gunars has been so strong all this time being here. I am finding it VERY difficult. I have just bawled more than once tonight. Skylar, Gunars, Kassey, and I ate dinner tonight together for the first time in...I don't know how long, and it was nice, but someone was missing. I couldn't help but look over to her seat again and again to see her. I know she will be with us soon...I'm just having a hard time coping.
Thank you for all the prayers and welcome home messages. We have greatly appreciated them. I am looking forward to sleeping in MY bed tonight.

Genie,
Our prayers are with you. My heart goes out to all of you dealing with this unimaginable tragedy. This tragedy will lead to triumph! All of you are fighters and winners, history proves that! You have been amazing throughout this very difficult time. All of your girls are blessed to have you and Gunars. You are back on "home" turf, and allow everyone who will help your family pull it all together. Everyone wants to help, please let them be blessed by allowing them to do so. We love you all. Praying and Believing! Spokane
I came across your website through facebook sometime in early January. I bookmarked it because I wanted to follow your journey through recovery. I feel for your whole family what a rollercoaster you must feel like you are on. Your children are all beautiful. I too have 3 children and I find myself pulled in by your story. If only I could take just a small amount of the pain and worry away I would. You are a VERY STRONG WOMAN!!! I pray for Kyara daily. My 10 year old daughter Lexis and my 7 year old son Damon also pray for her, when the kids hear the music from your website they come over to see how things are going. I pray that god blesses your little girl with a full recovery and that she can truely start to heel with fewer and fewer set backs as your jouney continues. Stay the strong woman that you are god doesn't put onto people more than they can handle and in the end your family will be so strong that nothing can break it down. I am also very happy that you are able to once again be near your home, that must be such a blessing. Thinking of you always, Natalie
May God Bless you with a sense of peace and comfort now that you are back home. You are a VERY strong person and you have so much love and support behind you. I hope to met you soon.

Genie, I am so glad you are all together again. It brings tears to my eyes reading how you are feeling, I can only imagine because I remember coming home to be with Stephanie when Paul was in the hospital and that blank feeling you get that someone important is missing. I am sure things are going to be turning for the best now that you are all home, she will recover and be able to be home with all of you very soon. The important things is you are all together to share that love and she feels that whether she is present or not. Our spirits are a wonderful thing God gave us. Lots of prayers and love your way, for all of you.
Love,
Ivette
P.s. When everything settles and Kyara is allowed visitors and you are all up for it we would love to come visit. God Bless.
I know it has to be so hard to have that empty feeling, but at the same time, so good for the rest of you to be together again! Skylar has been such a trooper through all of this, but she needs her mommy too. I'm so glad that you are now able to spend some regular time with her too, she needs it! We continue to pray for all of you and it is getting close to time to "rock the rehab!"

Genie,
Welcome home! We know that your homecoming has to be bittersweet! We are anxious to help in any way possible. Please let us know what we can do. We are so happy to have you guys back, and we know that God hears our prayers and that empty place at your dinner table will be filled soon. She is in God's hands and will have great care at Scottish Rite. We are excited about the improvements to come.
Please take some time for yourself. You deserve some rest! You are the most incredible Mother we know, and will be even better for all of your girls with some rest.
We love you guys!

I am so sorry, it never occured to me the emotions you would feel coming home after so long. You have had to remain strong and hold alot of your feelings in, for months, but now that you are in your comfort zone (home) it is natural for it all to finally come to the surface and release itself. I can't even imagine how you are feeling, but let it out. Be happy, be sad, be angry, be glad, be whatever you need to be, for this is how you will heal. It is all overwhelming at the moment, but I bet all those pictures and objects that upset you right now, will bring you comfort in the near future. Kyara will be HOME with everyone soon and when she does make it back to her seat at the dinner table, she will be eatting 'real' food, just like the rest of you. God bless you all and continue to give you strength.

Your own bed will do you good, and soon Kyara will join the family at your dinner table. We will continue prayers for Kyara's recovery and strength for you, Gunars, and the girls.
God bless, Michelle
Hi Genie!
Congrats...you made it home! Danielle and I were scared to look at her chart but sooo relieved you finally got out of Michigan! Sorry to hear its been a rough transition, but she must know something is up. Airplane rides are scary for everyone! I just talked to my fiance and he said his partner transferred you guys in the ambulance to the airport. What a small world! This is definitely the time of hear for miracles and Kyara is due! Good luck with everything, I know you will give her lots of love for us...Kassey and Skylar too. Gunnars must be so happy to have you close! Looking forward to hearing about her progress!
Love and prayers,
Sam
I am so happy and sad that you are home. I am happy, because you are home with Skylar too and Gunnars. I bet they missed you a lot, but the house is not the same without you, Bunny, and Kassie. Things will be so much better for you now that you are home though. Soak it up and hopefully I will post that we are home too!!! Love and prayers to you and yours, Jessica Twigg
Genie, I'm so glad you, Kyara and the rest of the family made it safely home. I miss you guys already:( But I am so glad you are closer to home. Keep your faith and hope alive. My prayers are with you always.
